
Career Opportunities
Hiring Village offers an opportunity for BSidesCharm attendees to talk with companies about career opportunities. We have a fine assortment of small/medium/large companies from our local area that offers a mix of career opportunities. Come talk to our participating companies in a low-pressure environment and learn about what they have to offer. If you are in a career search, we recommend that you bring copies of your resume to share with the recruiters in the Hiring Village.
Resume Reviews – 1:00 – 2:15pm and 3:00 – 5:00pm
How dusty is your resume? Does it reflect your skills, abilities, and talents? What does it look like to someone reviewing you for a job? Everyone should have an up-to-date resume. Stop by and meet with volunteer resume reviewers to fine-tune your resumes. You don’t have to be job hunting to update your resume. Don’t wait until you need it!
Be sure to bring copies of your resume to share with the Resume Reviewers.
Breakout Tabletop Discussions – 2:15 – 3:00pm
Room 1 – Interview Strategy
Presented by John Stoner, Accomplished CISSP, PMP certified cybersecurity US Army veteran with an 25-year track record in USIC, public sector, and national security industry. Has 15+ years of experience focused in cybersecurity with experience in CTI, CI, cyber maturity assessments, APT analysis, course development, and instruction. Passionate about helping others in INFOSEC and volunteers in the community and with several non-profits.
Room 2 – Reputational Impact on Career Hunt
Presented by Jen Haverman, 37 years of collected experiences including cyber roles like sysadmin, ISSO/ISSM, pentester, red/white/blue/purple teamer, operations/incident response leader, adjunct faculty, and more. While she started in tech/cyber without degrees and certs, she is currently pursuing a cyber doctorate.

Village Lead: Kirsten Renner
Currently the VP of Talent at SilverEdge and serving on ICS Village board, Kirsten is known in the community as Director of BSidesLasVegas HireGround, BSidesCharm Hiring Village, and Critical Effects (Hack the Capitol) Workforce Development Day, as well as co-founder of Car Hacking Village, and serial volunteer and speaker at multiple industry conferences yearly.
