BSidesCharm 2018 - The fourth annual BSidesCharm was held at the Sheraton Baltimore North in Towson, MD, on April 28-29, 2018. As with the previous events, we offered 2 talk tracks, multiple training tracks, multiple CTF rooms, Lockpick village and IoT Village. For 2018 we brought back Hiring Village and also added a Movie Room! There were 982 people that checked in over the weekend! A good time was had by all! BSidesCharm 2017 - The third annual BSidesCharm was held at the Baltimore Convention Center on April 29-30, 2017. As with the previous 2 years, we offered 2 talk tracks, 3 training tracks, 2 CTF rooms, Lockpick village and IoT Village. For 2017 we added a Hiring Village where attendees could talk one-on-one with sponsors who were actively looking for new hires. They could also meet with Hiring Village volunteers to discuss/plan career goals and have their resume reviewed. We were completely blown away with the attendance this year - we had 885 people check in over the weekend! Overall, it was a weekend packed with great talks and conversations. BSidesCharm 2016 - Moving to a much larger space for 2016, we held the second annual BSidesCharm in April 2016. Again, we were extremely pleased with the attendance. There were 611 people that checked in over the 2-day event – including ticket holders, staff, speakers, trainers and sponsors. That number was more than double our 2015 attendance! Our entire pre-event allotment of 475 tickets for 2016 was claimed in less than 3 days this year! Our wait list was filled within hours of the last ticket sale! Considering all who registered for the event, 84% showed up for at least part of a day. That was a slight increase from our 2015 rate, but still better than a lot of other similar events in this size range! BSidesCharm 2015 - We were extremely pleased with the turn out for the inaugural Baltimore area event in April 2015. There were 299 people in attendance over the 2-day event – including ticket holders, staff, speakers, trainers and sponsors. Our entire pre-event allotment of 225 tickets was claimed in less than 4 days of going on sale! Our wait list was filled within 2 days of the last ticket sale! Due to space limitations at the venue, we were limited to 300 people total and could not take walk-ins. Fortunately we were able to find a little more space and release 25 extra tickets to the wait list (10 accepted). Considering all who registered for the event, 83% showed up for at least part of a day. Compared to other similar events, that was a great attendance percentage! |
