BSidesCharm 2022 COVID-19 Standards
Update: 21 Apr 2022
After reviewing county, state, and federal mandates, BSidesCharm will not be enforcing mask usage for the event. Masks will not be mandatory. As detailed below, vaccines and/or negative tests are still required for admission.
This decision is subject to change as new information becomes available.
For 2022, BSidesCharm aims to uphold strict standards for the safety of our attendees. We will be continually monitoring the virus along with federal, Maryland state, Baltimore county, and venue requirements. This page will contain the latest information.
We are excited to provide BSidesCharm as an in-person event for 2022. We are not pursuing a virtual option at this time. To ensure a safe environment, BSidesCharm is taking the following health measures:
- As the event is weeks away, we will be monitoring mask mandates closer to the event date and will post updated information here on how the event will manage safety precautions.
- The venue will provide multiple hand sanitizing stations across the event. The venue will also be performing regular sanitization of contact points in the event area.
- Anyone exhibiting flu or cold-like symptoms are asked to stay home from the event.
-
Valid proof of vaccination (booster not required) OR proof of a negative test result within 72 hours prior to the event. Vaccination/Testing documentation is required and will be checked prior to receiving a badge.
- BSidesCharm is a family event that welcomes younger attendees who may be too young for vaccines. Attendees under the age of 12 are not required to be vaccinated or show a negative test result.
- Please reference the requirements below for those opting to provide COVID test results
- Types of tests that will be accepted: Lab PCR test, Rapid Result PCR Test, Rapid Result Antigen
- The test must be a SARS-CoV-2 viral test (nucleic acid amplification test [NAAT] or antigen test) with Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) OR the relevant national authority where the test is administered.
- Test must be administered within 72 hours of the event.
- Testing at home is permissible as long as the testing procedure includes a telehealth service affiliated with the manufacturer of the test that provides real-time supervision remotely through an audio and video connection. The telehealth provider must confirm your identity, observe the sample collection and testing procedures, confirm the test result, and issue a report.
- Test results (test report) must be in the form of written documentation (paper or digital copy) and must include:
- Full name of the person being tested
- Test result
- Type of test (indicating it is a NAAT (PCR) or antigen test)
- Entity issuing the result (e.g., laboratory, healthcare entity, or telehealth service)
- Sample collection date
- If you have any special needs, please reach out directly to the BSidesCharm Board.
- Types of tests that will be accepted: Lab PCR test, Rapid Result PCR Test, Rapid Result Antigen
